Lately there have been two really nice things about working at 8:00 am. The first is that sunrise happens to coincide with my bus ride into downtown, and the second is that I wake up at 6:30 am on my days off. After watching gorgeous sunrises all week on my way to work, my first day off I was up at the usual time and setting up my paints to catch the sunrise. One forgets how fast sunrise actually is until you try to paint it. I had to paint the sky over 3 mornings because the sunrise only lasted 10 minutes.
I really love this view which is the view from my eat-in kitchen. I’m planning to paint it at different times throughout the day (taking my cue from Monet’s Haystacks). Different seasons would be nice as well. Who knows, I might be painting this view for the rest of my life. We’ll see how that goes for the next while since my 3 year old will be at home with me and she has decided that naps are for suckers.
Awesome! Very beautiful, I enjoy sunrises and sunsets specifically because they come and go so quickly. This is also why I take pictures and draw from that, I’m just not fast enough!
Painting fast is my super-power :p
