I waited most of the day for the skies to clear up, and finally at 3:30 the sun came out and out I went. This is part of my sideyard with my very messy flowerbeds and the new gate that my Dad and I made last summer. I was a bit of a lazy gardener last year and did not cut any of my perennials back in the fall, so this is an old foxglove and delphinium and lots and lots of dead leaves.
I don’t think I’ve ever painted my flowerbeds at this time of year. I usually paint them when they are in full bloom. The colour palette and light of these spring paintings is completely different to that of the watercolours I did last summer. I was thinking it might be interesting to try the 30 days of paintings again in the summer or fall…if I’m up to it.
Very good, Dayna. I guess all the work was worth it. How’s it holding up after the winter?
Thanks Dad, the gates are even better now after settling :)
